Project overview

16-channel EEG acquisition board built on two ADS1299 front ends with a Microchip PIC microcontroller and onboard Bluetooth, directly compatible with the OpenBCI GUI. Effectively a fusion of OpenBCI's Cyton and Daisy boards on a single PCB.

Engineering approach

Medical and biosignal electronics carry tight requirements around noise floor, shielding, and repeatable measurement accuracy. On this board, that translates into a component set built around 2x ADS1299, PIC and Bluetooth, with layout and stack-up decisions driven by signal integrity, low-noise analog front-end layout, and careful grounding to keep biosignal readings clean.
